We are now settling in at the Saglik Pansyon in Sinop.
Hanife hanim is cooking kofte (meatballs in a stew
with vegetables) tonight for dinner.
We are continuing the geomorphological survey with the
assistance of Geologist Ugur Dogan from Ankara University
and his student Nezih Guven. We have also begun the
archaeological field survey of the Akliman delta (see
1998 season web page).
New members of our team this year are Sena Mutlu
(Turkish government representative), Mark Besonen
(Geomorphologist), Aysun Akdag and Betul Aciktepe,
archaeology students from Istanbul University.
