We have now completed the second day of the
archeological field survey of the Akliman
delta.
Our team of eight has now recorded data on 18 fields,
each about half a hectare or more in size. We walk
through plowed fields spread ten meters apart picking up
pieces of pottery, stone tools and other evidence of
pre-modern use. The information we are collecting will
allow us to compare the distribution of archeological
finds in areas that were farmed, lived in and abandoned
in different times.
