Day 18
new Bronze Age sites

The Journal of the
Black Sea Project

July 18, 1998

We've now finished another week of work, and what a week it was. After working several days in the inner parts of the Dibekli koy valley, we have now identified five new Bronze Age sites.

These sites all seem to have been burnt down about 4,500 years ago. The clay daub used to pack and seal the walls of the huts is blackened and hardened by fire.
