Archives' collections include more than 2,000 feet of textual records, more than 300,000 individual photographic items, and several special collections. The photographic archives include glass plate and film negatives, lantern slides, moving images such as motion picture films and videotapes, stereograph cards, color transparencies, and vintage photographic prints.

Conservation

The Conservation Department works in tandem with the Registrar’s Office, the Exhibits Department and the academic sections to maintain the various collections.

The Development Office operates fundraising programs for the Museum including the Annual Fund, Membership, Special Events and Young Friends (ages 21-45) events that are designed for Museum support.

The Director's Office provides direction and guidance for all administrative and academic programs and activities at the Museum.

The Education Department oversees all tours and school visits (45,000 schoolchildren annually), presents frequent teacher workshops, runs the summer camp, and provides educational materials both for in-house events and for external lectures, events, and Mobile Guides visits to schools and institutions.

The Exhibits department oversees all aspects of display of objects, including design, layout, conservation and presentation issues.

Information Technology

The IT department provides computer hardware, and software support to all Museum staff members . 

MASCA

Research Scientist

 

The Museum Applied Science Center for Archaeology (MASCA) is the scientific division of the Museum. Its research focuses on the application of modern scientific techniques that aid the interpretation of archaeological contexts and the materials recovered from those contexts, during both current and past excavations.

The Museum Registrar’s Office is the center for coordinating collections-related activities, including donations processing, loans processing, object identification services, the collections internship program, and special projects.

The Rentals department coordinates all aspects of gallery, auditorium and classroom rentals for weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs, holiday parties, retreats, corporate recruiting events, meetings and receptions.
