Directions & Parking IMPORTANT ANNOUCEMENT: South Street Bridge is closed for reconstruction. South Street between Convention Avenue and 33rd Street is now one way Westbound only. The South Street Bridge is closed for demolition and total reconstruction, estimated to take two years. The entire bridge is closed from Convention Avenue and 27th Street, including the on-and-off ramps connecting South Street and I-76. Please consider the below alternate routes to the Penn Museum, including numerous conveniently located public transportation options. For more information on the South Street Bridge Closure visit the University of Pennslyvania’s South Street Bridge Website. Take I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) to University Avenue, exit 346B, towards Grays Ferry Avenue. Visitors are encouraged to park at the Campus Park and Ride on Grays Ferry Ave. (See "Parking" below for directions). If you prefer to look for (limited) parking in Penn Tower Garage or Lot 7 adjacent to the Museum, keep right at the fork and continue toward University Avenue and merge onto University Avenue. Turn right onto Civic Center Boulevard. Make another immediate right onto Health Sciences Drive. You may continue to the Penn Tower Parking Garage or the Lot 7 parking Garage. Our address is 3260 South Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104.
See the University of Pennsylvania's website for directions to the campus>> Parking Parking is extremely limited during the weekday. There may be parking available in the parking garage off Convention Ave. (east of the Museum). Other pay lots are in the vicinity and metered parking is available on some streets nearby. 1. Parking at Campus Park and Ride, a shuttle service to and from a parking lot a few miles from Penn’s Campus is highly recommended. 2. Two parking lots are adjacent to the Museum on Convention Avenue: Lot 7 and Penn Tower parking garages. Please be advised that Lot 7 is most often full until around noon.
3. Parking is also available
at 34th and Chestnut Streets.
With increased vehicle congestion expected due to the bridge’s reconstruction, this is a prime opportunity to ‘go green’ and take public transportation to Penn Museum. The Museum is conveniently located near numerous public transportation stops, most of which are just a few minutes walk away.
