Greece, A Circumnavigation of the Peloponneese
April 28 - May 9, 2008

Known as the “cradle of Western civilization,” Greece and the Peloponnese Peninsula offer a perfect blend of history, diverse cultural influences, stunning natural beauty, and architectural treasures. You’re invited to join us as we sail warm, azure waters and explore the cities and sanctuaries of ancient Greece.
Begin in Athens, where you’ll wander amidst the soaring columns of the Parthenon, discover the treasures of the National Archaeological Museum, and meander through the winding alleys of the Plaka district. An overland journey takes you to Corinth, site of the spectacular Temple of Apollo, and then to the World Heritage site of Epidavros, known for its huge amphitheater.

You will then set sail for a seven-night cruise along the stunning, sun-drenched coast of the Peloponnese aboard the intimate and privately chartered Panorama. Delve into ancient history with stops at the Palace of Nestor in Mycenae, the medieval fortress of Monemvasia, and the Byzantine monasteries of Mystra.

Explore Mt. Lykaion’s Sanctuary of Zeus in the company of our expert archaeologists; trace the history of the modern Olympics to its origins at ancient Olympia; and learn the mysteries of mystical Delphi, home of the fabled Delphic oracle. Conclude your journey with a transit of the towering Corinth Canal en route to Athens.
