The rabbit is a central figure in many Mesoamerican tales. A potter from the Mixtequilla region of Mexico, Totonac culture, made this pottery effigy vessel. The rabbit's floppy ears have a deeply incised design that ends, near the top of the ear, with a feathered crest.
