Description | Pottery: Flat base, globular body, double-spouted with arched strap handle. Slightly modeled and painted cats heads on opposite sides of body Double-spouted jug with a globular body, tapered neck, rounded rim, 1 bridge handle extending from spout to spout, and a flat base. No molded/modeled additions. Shaped like a cat head. The body of the vessel is shaped like a cat head (mold-formed?). The vessel is painted with designs in red, white, and black; however, the original designs are not visible due to loss of surface. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base and black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "909." |
