Description | Single Face Bob Weave; Zoomorphic. Diagonal pattern of brown birds outlined in red on yellow ground. "plaited" edge finish along loom string and around on edge. The cloth on which this and border was woven is of loose weave with small embroidered squares in conventional pattern. Fragment of a plain weave cotton woven textile with a band of a brocaded edge (single-sided with floats on verso). The brocaded edge has a bound edge. In the plain weave section there is also some brown embroidered elements. Color(s): Brown, off-white, and red. |
